We specialize in consistently producing accurate, high-quality drawings. Copies of completed drawings are emailed to you to speed up the review process and allow you to review and markup at your own convenience.
Archival of Drawings
We store paper copies of our drawings for at least 5 years, electronic copies of your work indefinitely. We have an extensive database of the work we’ve prepared which allows us to quickly prepare re-orders, make amendments and use similar elements from previous cases to minimize the amount of work needed on new projects.
Formal Drawings Up Front
QPP recommends formal drawings be prepared prior to receiving a Notice of Allowance; however, filing formal drawings during the initial filing of an application is the best option.
It is stated in the Federal Register, dated September 8, 2000 that “It is in the applicant’s interest that the drawings be of the best quality.” This responsibility to file high-quality drawings that are unambiguous with clearly defined details falls upon the applicant and his representatives. We at Quality Patent Printing can share this responsibility with you and make the process run smoothly.

As always, we guarantee our formal drawings and provide professional accountability for the work we prepare. Only clearly-drawn formal drawings will reproduce well and, whether printed by conventional means, scanned and printed electronically or completely redrafted, our work will exceed the prescribed standards of the USPTO and you will have a quality product when the patent goes to print.
Original Drawings
We are able to go on-site if needed, to collect data and prepare sight drawings, or take notes, photographs and prepare rough sketches. From this information, we produce our preliminary drawings for your approval. Formal drawings are then prepared according to your schedule. In addition, with our extensive experience and skills, we can prepare original drawings from only a pencil sketch or concept and give your idea a professional image.
Design Drawings
A sound knowledge of perspective theory enables us to understand the distortion inherent in disclosures made solely from photographs. With the correct amount of photographs and views we are able to extrapolate and produce highly-accurate orthographic drawings. In other design cases where elevation drawings may constitute the sole drawing disclosure, we will produce a perspective drawing which enables the examiner to fully visualize the design. As perspective drawings are required in complicated design cases, our expertise in this area makes a significant difference in reducing the time it takes to get a case allowed.
Utility Drawings
Mechanical drawings are the mainstay of our drafting department; however, we also produce a significant amount of electrical diagrams and chemical schematics, especially in the field of recombinant DNA and bio-technology. We can efficiently produce DNA sequences from rough original copies as well as reformatting electronic files of sequences, or other electronic files supplied to us.
Trademark Drawings
Our drafting department is highly skilled in computer graphics and the latest CAD software which enables us to reproduce the most subtle of character designs from the poorest original copies, photographs or sketches as well as intricate high-detail logos and trademarks. Send us rough sketches from your clients concepts and we will design your logo’s, brands or trademarks.
Digital Photography for Drafting
We have in-house facilities and equipment for producing high resolution images from your prototypes for use in preparing patent drawings. We can also prepare photographic drawings of your items and prototypes by digitally removing the background and any parts not being claimed. In most cases we achieve the best results if we take the photos ourselves to make sure we get the exact views and angles needed and show the most detail for accuracy. Just package your prototype securely and send it to us. We will return it back to you when the drawings are completed and approved.
